WARRENSBURG, Mo. — The University of Central Missouri women's basketball team rushed out to a 12-point first quarter lead and never looked back en route to a 78-61 victory over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Nov. 28) at the Multipurpose Building.
The Gorillas (1-2, 1-2 MIAA) shot just 31.7 percent from the field in the contest against the Jennies (2-0, 2-0Â MIAA).
Tristan Gegg led Pitt State with a team-leading 22 points. She was the lone Gorilla to score in double figures. Kaylee DaMitz and Sydnee Crain added nine points apiece for the Gorillas. Maya Williams contributed six points and six rebounds.
Pitt State will return to action next Thursday (Dec. 3) when the Gorillas make their home debut against Northeastern State University.
