JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Tristan Gegg matched her career high with 31 points as the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team secured an 83-76 road win over Lincoln University Thursday (Dec. 10) at Jason Gymnasium.
The victory helped the Gorillas reach the .500 mark at 3-3 on the season (3-3 MIAA), while the Blue Tigers remained winless on the young season (0-4, 0-4 MIAA).
Gegg knocked down 10 of 26 shots from the floor, including four 3-point field goals as she played all 40 minutes of action in the game. She also converted all seven of her free throw attempts as Pitt State finished the game 21 of 22 (.955) from the foul line as a team.
Kaylee DaMitz added 19 points, while Jayme Jackson added season bests of 12 points and eight rebounds. Dana Johnson also contributed 10 points and seven rebounds for the Gorillas.
Lincoln got a team-leading 22 points from Niyah Jackson. The Blue Tigers shot 51.8 percent from the field in the game (29-56), but Lincoln was victimized by 19 turnovers.
The Gorillas will return to action next Thursday (Dec. 17) when they play host to MIAA rival Missouri Western State University at 5:30 p.m. (CST).
