Balanced Attack Pace Pitt State to 81-71 Win Over NSU


PITTSBURG -- Five players scored in double figures for the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team as the Gorillas claimed an 81-71 home victory over Northeastern State University Saturday (Dec. 5) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

Antonio Givens II and Ike Moore scored 16 points apiece for Pitt State (3-2, 3-2 MIAA), Martin Vogts added 15 points and Zach Burch finished with 14 points. Bobby Arthur-Williams Jr. chipped in with 12 points and a team-leading seven rebounds.

The Gorillas shot 50 percent from the field for the game, maing 27 of 54 shots. Pitt State added 10 3-point field goals.

NSU (1-2, 1-2 MIAA) got 16 points from Brad Davis, while Trey Sampson added 14 points for the RiverHawks.

The Gorillas will travel to Jefferson City, Mo., next Thursday (Dec. 10) to battle MIAA rival Lincoln University.
