PITTSBURG -- The University of Minnesota Crookston pitchers Conner Richardson and Phil Hindes combined on a five-hit shutout as the Golden Eagles blanked the Pittsburg State University baseball team Saturday (Feb. 15) at Al Ortolani Field.
The two teams will wrap up their three-game series with a Noon (CST) game Sunday (Feb. 16).
Richardson (1-0) limited Pitt State (3-6) to just four hits and a walk in six innings of work, before Hindes (Sv. 1) tossed three innings of one-hit relief to close out the game.
UMC (1-1) plated three runs in the top of the third against Pitt State starter Chandler Mauldin (0-2). The Golden Eagles added single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings before tacking on two additional runs in the eighth.
