TOPEKA -- Jonny Clausing made one of two free throws with seven seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Washburn University men's basketball team to a 76-75 victory over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Feb. 8) at Lee Arena.
Pitt State (9-13, 5-8 MIAA) led 71-63 with 6:28 to play, but WU (13-9, 8-5 MIAA) outscored the Gorillas, 13-4, down the stretch to rally for the win.
A.J. Walker scored a team-leading 22 points in the loss for the Gorillas. He added five assists, six rebounds and three steals in the game. Jah-Kobe Womack chipped in with 13 points while Antonio Givens II also finished in double figures with 10 points.
Jalen Lewis led a balanced Ichabods attack with 14 points.
