TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Pittsburg State University baseball team claimed a second straight MIAA series Sunday (Mar. 8) thanks to the Gorillas 6-4 victory over Northeastern State University.
The win helped Pitt State (13-8, 4-2 MIAA) take two of three games against Northeastern State (9-10, 3-3 MIAA).
Ty Herrenbruck led the Gorillas' offensive attack, going 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Mason Hartman also went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Ryan Koval drove in a pair of runs and Chaz Burgess scored twice.
Peyton Ingalls (1-0) earned the win on the mound. He allowed three earned runs over 5 2/3 innings. Nick Brown locked down his second save in as many days by registering the final six outs.
