TOPEKA — The Washburn University men's basketball team shot 59 percent from the field in the second half and pulled away in the game's final 10 minutes for an 84-62 victory over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Jan. 16) at Lee Arena.
Trey Geiman led all scorers with 19 points to pace No. 8 ranked Washburn (10-1, 10-1 MIAA). The Ichabods converted 15 of 35 3-point field goals in the contest, generating 54 percent of their offensive production from behind the arc.
Bobby Arthur-Williams Jr. scored a team-leading 17 points for Pitt State (5-6, 5-6 MIAA), while Ryan Pippins added 15 points.
The Gorillas will return to action next Thursday (Jan. 21) when they host the University of Nebraska-Kearney at 7:30 p.m. (CST).
