Lady Tigers Hold Off Gorillas 85-73


PITTSBURG -- Jaden Hobbs scored a game high 26 points to lead the Fort Hays State University women's basketball team to an 85-73 victory over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Jan. 23) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.

Hobbs made 11 of 18 shots from the floor to help FHSU (9-2, 9-2 MIAA) shot 62.1 percent from the field overall (36-58). She adde a game high 12 assists to post a double double in the contest.

The Gorillas (8-5, 8-5 MIAA) got 17 points from Tristan Gegg and 15 points from Maya Williams. Kaylee DaMitz (12) and Sydnee Crain (11) also scored in double figures for Pitt State.

The Gorillas made 12 3-point field goals in the game and shot 46.4 percent from the floor overall (26-56).

Katie Wagner added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Lady TIgers, while Whitney Randall finished with 21 points.

Pitt State will return to action next Thursday (Jan. 28) at Tahlequah, Okla., against MIAA rival Northeastern State University.
