Pittsburg – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team finished its season sweep over Missouri Southern State University Tuesday (Oct. 12), 3-0.
 
The Gorillas got started early with a 25-14 set one win. The momentum continued into set two with a 25-13 to win. In set three the Lady Lions would take an early 11-10 lead forcing a Gorilla timeout. Out of the timeout the Gorillas would take the lead back 14-11 and continue on to take the set 25-19.
 
Pitt State was led by junior outside hitter Meg Auten who tallied 13 kills over the Lady Lions. Junior setter Bri Richard put up 25 assists against Missouri Southern. The Gorillas would also hold the Lady Lions to a 0.031 hitting percentage in the match.
 
The Gorillas next matchup is set for Friday (Oct. 12) against No. 15 Nebraska-Kearney.
