Emporia, Kan. – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team takes down Emporia State University in strait sets, 3-0.
The Gorilla would come from behind in set one to take the set 25-21. Pitt State carried the momentum into set two with a, 25-22 victory.
Pitt State would pull ahead in the third set 20-14 forcing a Lady Hornets timeout. The Lady Hornets would rally after the timeout but ultimately the Gorillas would be too much and take the set 25-21.
Junior outside hitter Meg Auten put up 20 kills in the match as well as 12 digs. Junior setter Bri Richard tallied 35 assists and three kills on the night.
Pitt State will be back in action Saturday (Oct. 9) to take on No. 1 Washburn University. First serve with the Ichabods is set for 6 p.m.
