PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-0 loss to the University of Nebraska-Kearney, Saturday (Nov 13).
In the first set the Gorillas would take an early 13-9 lead forcing a Loper timeout. Out of the timeout Kearney would take the lead 14-11 off of five strait points. The Lopers would edge out the Gorillas in the first set 25-18.
In set two of the match the Lopers would take the lead from the beginning and hold on for a 25-15 win. The momentum would stay with the Lopers and would take the third and final set 25-15.
Junior setter Bri Richard tallied 27 assists and three kills against the Lopers. Sophomore Janae Thurston would put up 12 kills in the match.
