CLAREMORE, Okla. -- The Rogers State University men's basketball team shot 78.3 percent from the field in the second half to pull away for an 82-70 victory over Pittsburg State University Wednesday (Dec. 8) at the Claremore Expo Center.
The Hillcats (6-2, 1-2 MIAA) scored 54 points in the final 20 minutes of play on the strength of 18 for 23 shooting from the field. The Gorillas (2-7, 1-2 MIAA) led 31-28 at the break.
Tyler Dean and Devin Pulliam paced RSU with 19 points apiece while Brewster Peacock chipped in with 13 points for the Hillcats. RSU shot 56 percent from the floor in the game to overcome 37 percent shooting in the first half.
Iziah James led four Pitt State players in double figures with 13 points. Antonio GIvens II added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Cameron Huefner and Tyler Hawkins finished with 10 points apiece.
Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Dec. 11) when the Gorillas travel to Tahlquah, Okla., to battle MIAA rival Northeastern State University at 3:30 p.m.
