PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will travel to Claremore, Okla., Friday (Apr. 2) to open a three-game MIAA series against Rogers State University. The Gorillas will meet the Hillcats at 3 p.m. (CDT) at the Diamond Sports Complex Friday and then close out the series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday (Apr. 3).
Pitt State and Rogers State both enter the series with 12-7 overall records and 9-6 marks in MIAA play. The Gorillas and Hillcats are tied for fourth place in the conference standings, a game behind third place Northeastern State University (13-6, 10-5 MIAA).
Pitt State enters the series batting .291 as a team and scoring an MIAA leading 8.7 runs per game. The Gorillas pitchers carry a 5.28 ERA. Rogers State hits .299 and averages 7.4 runs per game, while the Hillcats pitchers sport a 5.19 ERA.
