Edmond Okla. – The Pittsburg State University softball team dropped a pair of games to Central Oklahoma, 2-3, 2-5.
The Gorillas took an early lead in game one thanks to an RBI double from first baseman Kami Zimmerman. The Gorillas took the 1-0 lead into the fifth. In the fifth left fielder Kylee Bohle doubled the score with an RBI double to take a 2-0 lead. The Bronchos would score two runs in the next two innings to tie the game. In the seventh Central Oklahoma would score a walk off double to win the game 3-2.
Kaylee Burns would complete the game allowing eight hits and three earned runs. Burns moved to 8-10 on the season.
Game two would go the way of the Bronchos after taking an early 4-0 lead. The Gorillas would score two runs off of a Lauren Florez double to right field. The Bronchos would score an insurance run in the sixth to give the game its final score of 5-2.
Taylor Compton would go three and 2/3 innings allowing nine hits and four runs.
The Gorillas will be back in Pittsburg Friday (Apr. 30) to take on Missouri Western State University. Pitt State will finish its season Saturday (May 1) against Northwest Missouri State University.
