PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University volleyball team finished off a perfect weekend inside John Lance Arena with a tree set sweep of St. Mary's.
The Gorillas got off to a hot start early taking the first set 25-17. Pitt State took that momentum and ran with it to take set two 25-16. Set three would go the Gorillas way by a 25-22 margin.
Junior outside hitter Meg Auten led the Gorillas with 19 kills in the match. Junior setter Brianna Richard put up 30 assists and seven digs in the contest.
The Gorillas will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 17 to start conference play when Central Oklahoma comes to town. First serve is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
