KEARNEY, Neb. — The University of Nebraska-Kearney women's basketball shot 54.2 percent from the field to claim a 72-58 victory over Pittsburg State University Thursday (Jan. 20) at the Health & Sports Center.
The No. 14 ranked Lopers (15-2, 10-1 MIAA) got a game high 15 points from Trinity Law and 12 points apiece from Maegan Holt and Klaire Kirsch in the contest. UNK made 26 of 48 shots from the floor, including six of 12 3-point field goals. Kirsch posted a double-double adding a game high 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Pitt State (11-6, 6-5 MIAA) got 11 points apiece from Jayme Jackson and Sydnee Crain as wel as 10 points each from Erin Davis and Sydney Holmes. The Gorillas shot just 37.9 percent (22-58) from the floor, including 2-for-20 shooting from 3-point range.
Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Jan. 22) when the Gorillas travel to Hays, Kan., to battle No. 2 ranked Fort Hays State University at 2 p.m.
