PITTSBURG -- Ike Moore came off the bench to score a career best 15 points and spark the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to an 88-79 victory over Rogers State University Saturday (Jan. 29) at John Lance Arena Whetzel Court.
The Gorillas (5-15, 4-10 MIAA), who snapped a six-game losing streak, used an 8-0 run to break open a 69-69 tie and pull away from the Hillcats (12-8, 6-8 MIAA) down the stretch. Zach Burch gave Pitt State the lead for good with a bucket with 3:33 to play in the game.
Moore made seven of eight shots from the floor to help the Gorillas shoot 52.9 percent overall in the game (27-51). Quentin Hardrict Jr. added 15 points while Bobby Arthur-Williams Jr. chipped in with 11 points and a team-leading eight rebounds. Antonio Givens II (11) and Burch (10) also finished in double figures for the Gorillas. R.J. Lawrence also contributed seven points, four rebounds and a game high six assists.
Devin Pullum recorded a game-high 24 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead the Hillcats.Jordan Cobin added 21 points.
