EDMOND, Okla. — The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team pulled away midway through the second half to claim a 77-60 victory over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Dec. 11) at Hamilton Field House.

The No. 6 ranked Bronchos (8-1, 3-1 MIAA) led 56-48 to play following a 3-point field goal by Pitt State's R.J. Forney Jr., but UCO scored the next nine points to take control of the game against the Gorillas (4-6, 2-3 MIAA).

Deshaun English II and Calvin Poulina combined to scored 31 points and grab 17 rebounds in the contest. English had a team-leading 17 points and nine boards, while Poulina chipped in with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Forney added nine points on three of five shooting from long range.

As a team, the Gorillas shot 35.8 percent from the floor in the contest (19-53).

The Bronchos got a game-high 24 points from Cam Givens and 15 more from Jaden Wells. UCO shot 50.8 percent (32-63) from the field, despite a 3-for-17 collective effort from beyond the arc.

Pitt State will return to action Saturday (Dec. 17) by hosting the University of Central Missouri at 7:30 p.m. (CST) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
