PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., to play a trio of games this weekend.

The Gorillas will play a pair of games as part of the Henderson State University Invitational, battling the host school, HSU, at 2 p.m. (CST) Friday (Feb. 11) and Southern Arkansas University at 6 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 12) at Clyde Berry Field. Sandwiched in-between, Pitt State will travel across town to take on Ouachita Baptist University at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Gorillas will bring a 2-1 record into the weekend action. Pitt State defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State University (6-4) and Northern State University (12-7) and lost to Oklahoma Baptist University (10-4) at the UCO First Pitch Classic at Edmond, Okla., Feb. 6-8.

Senior outfielder Kaden Fowler leads the Pitt State offense on the young season with a .417 batting average. He has scored four runs, belted two home runs and driven in three runs. Senior infielder Garrett McGowan also is batting .385 with three home runs and eight RBIs thus far.

Pitt State pitchers sport a 6.43 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 28.0 innings of work on the year.

HSU is off to a 3-0 start to the season, while OBU is 1-2 and SAU is 2-1 thus far.
