PITTSBURG -- Jayme Jackson and Tristan Gegg combined for 38 points to help lead the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 66-62 victory over Northwest Missouri State University Thursday (Feb. 10) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
Jackson scored a game-high 20 points while Gegg added 18 on seven of 11 shooting from the field for Pitt State (14-9, 9-8 MIAA). Sydney Holmes chipped in with 14 points and seven rebounds for the Gorillas, including four free throws in the game's final 12 seconds to help seal the win.
Molly Hartnett was the lone Bearcat player in double figures with 13 points. NWMSU (15-8, 10-7 MIAA) shot just 40.0 percent from the field in the game (22-55).
The Gorillas will return to action Saturday (Feb. 12) when Pitt State entertains MIAA rival Missouri Western State University at 1:30 p.m.
