ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- The Henderson State University baseball team jumped out ot a 7-0 lead after two innings and rolde that early momentum to a 13-3 run-rule victory over Pittsburg State University Friday (Feb. 11).
The Reddies (5-0) stayed unbeaten on the young season by defeating the Gorillas (2-2) in Friday's action of the HSU Invitational at Clyde Berry Field.
Peyton Ingalls (0-1) was charged with the loss after surrendering seen runs (four earned) in 1.7 innings of work. Pitt State committed two errors in the field in the contest.
Cruz Aranda, Ryan Koval and Cade Clemons each drove in runs for the Gorillas. Brett Daley went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Pitt State's eight-hit attack.
The Gorillas will travel across town at 1 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 12) to face Ouachita Baptist University at Rab Rodgers Field. Pitt State will then return to the HSU campus to take on Southern Arkansas University at 6 p.m. at Clyde Berry Field.
