Topeka, Kan. – Sophomore Hannah Harrison would post the seventh no-hitter in Pittsburg State University history Saturday (Feb. 26) against Southwest Minnesota State University at the Washburn Invitational.
Pitt State would get the day started against the University of Sioux Falls. The Gorillas fell behind early 3-0, after three innings of play. Sioux Falls would prove to be too much for the Gorillas taking the game 7-0. The Gorillas would turn right around and take on Southwest Minnesota in game two of the day.
Pitt State would hop out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. The Gorilla offense continued to dominate to a 12-0 five inning run-rule victory.
Harrison would post a five inning no-hitter against Southwest Minnesota in the victory. It was the seventh no hitter in Pitt State history and the first since 2017. Harrison's only blemish in the outing would be a walk against the first batter of the game. Harrison would finish with eight strikeouts on the day.
Pitt State returns to action Sunday (Feb. 27) for day two of the tournament taking on St. Cloud State University and Wayne State College starting at 9:30 a.m.
