PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team split a pair of games against the University of Central Missouri Monday (Mar. 14), 6-3, 10-2.
In game one of the day the Jennies would get off to a hot start scoring four runs in the first three innings to take an early 4-2 lead. The Jennies would onto the lead until the end taking game one of the day 6-3. Kori Stonestreet would tally two RBIs on one hit and scored one run in the game.Â
Game two the Gorillas would start off hot with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Gorillas wouldn't stop there scoring another four runs in the second to take an early 9-2 lead. In the bottom of the sixth Pitt State would add another run to make it a 10-2 run rule victory. Gabby Schultz went 2-3 and add three RBIs in game two. Hannah Harrison would go all six innings allowing five hits and zero earned runs. She moved her season record to 7-2.
The Gorillas return to action Friday (Mar. 18) to take part in the Missouri Western Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo.
