TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Northeastern State University baseball team scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to claim a 17-13 walk-off victory over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Mar. 20) in the MIAA series finale between the schools.
NSU (17-9, 7-6 MIAA) took two of three games in the series against Pitt State (15-9, 9-3 MIAA) with Sunday's win.
M Kaiser delivered the game-winning hit for the RiverHawks – a two out grand slam off Pitt State reliever A.J. Calhoon, the Gorillas 10th pitcher of the game.
Conner Van Cleave homered twice and drove in four runs for the Gorillas, while Brett Daley went 2-for-4 with a home run and five RBI. Garrett McGowan belted his 11th home run of the season while going 4-for-6 at the plate with four runs scored and two RBI.
