Winter Haven, Fla. – The Pittsburg State University softball team finished play in Florida by splitting a pair of games against Cedarville University and Bemidji State University.
Pitt State would fall behind early in game one of the day against Cedarville, 6-1 after three innings of play. The Gorillas would fight back to within two 6-4 after four innings. But the yellow Jackets would prove to be too much and take the game 9-5.
In its final game in the sunshine state the Gorillas would come out to a hot start taking an early 5-1 lead. The Gorillas wouldn't stop there scoring six more runs including five in the seventh to take the victory, 11-2.
In game two Gabby Schultz would go 2-4 at the plate and would drive in three runs. In the circle Hannah Harrison would go a complete game allowing five hits and two earned runs. Moving her season record to 6-2.
The Gorillas return to Pittsburg to start conference play against Lincoln University, Friday (Mar. 11).
