PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University softball team lost two games in doubleheader action against Fort Hays State University, 5-1, 9-8.
The Gorillas would struggle in game one of the day falling behind early 5-0. Pitt State would score its first run in the 6th off a sacrifice fly by Keelah Griffith to give the game a final score of 5-1.
In game two of the day the Gorillas would hold 8-5 lead heading into the seventh. Fort Hays would rally in the seventh to score four runs to take a 9-8 lead. The Gorillas would rally in the seventh after Taylor Lambert walked to put the winning run at the plate. The Tigers would get the next two out to take the come from behind victory 9-8.
The Gorillas return to action tomorrow (Apr. 2) to take on the University of Nebraska Kearney at 1 p.m.
