Gorillas Head to Emporia For Tuesday Night Tilt



PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will travel to Emporia, Kan., Tuesday (Apr. 12) to face MIAA rival Emporia State University at the Trusler Sports Complex. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. (CST).

The Gorillas enter Tuesday's action with a 23-12 overall record and a 17-6 mark in MIAA play. Pitt State posted a 3-1 record in four games last week, including taking two of three games in a conference series against Rogers State University. The Gorillas are currently alone in second place in the MIAA standings, trailing only No. 4 ranked University of Central Missouri (29-4, 21-1).

Emporia State is 14-23 overall and 8-15 in MIAA play. The Hornets took two of three games in an MIAA series from Newman University last weekend.

Pitt State and ESU have met twice already this season with the Gorillas posting a 7-1 win at Emporia on Mar. 16 as well as an 11-2 victory in Pittsburg on Mar. 29.
