WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The University of Central Missouri baseball team completed a three-game MIAA series sweep over Pittsburg State University with an 11-0 victory Saturday (Apr. 16) at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
The Mules (33-4, 26-1 MIAA) used four pitchers -- Jacob Merithew, Tyler Rardin, Harrison Babbitt and Cole LaLonde -- to limit the Gorillas (23-16, 17-10 MIAA) to just three hits in the contest.
Babbitt (2-0) worked 3.0 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win in the seven inning run-rule shortened contest.
Michael Chrisman went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI to lead UCM's 12-hit attack. Jacob Steele also drove in three runs for the Mules.
Caleb Carr, Garrett McGowan and Croz Aranda each had a hit for Pitt State. Ben Des Rosiers (5-2) suffered the loss on the mound for the Gorillas.
