ROLLA, Mo. -- The Missouri University of Science & Technology baseball team struck for four runs in the second inning to build an early lead and rode that momentum to a 5-2 victory over Pittsburg State University Tuesday (Apr. 19) at Ballpark at S&T.
Seven MST pitchers combined to limit the Gorillas to two runs (one earned) and seven hits on the afternoon. Nate Wodka (3-2), the second of seven pitchers earned the win with 2.0 scoreless innings of work. Chasen Anderson registered his fourth save of the season for the Miners (17-15).
Clay Wesbrooks (0-1) took the loss for Pitt State (23-17). Garrett McGowan went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Gorillas. Jordan Maxson and Cruz Aranda each drove in a run for Pitt State.
