PITTSBURG – The Pittsburg State University baseball team took a commanding victory over Arkansas Tech University Tuesday (Apr. 5) 14-8.
The Gorillas would get off to a hot start with four runs in the bottom of the second off the bats of Cruz Aranda and Kaden Fowler. After three runs by both teams in the third the Gorillas would take a 7-3 lead into the fourth.
After a scoreless fifth for Pitt State Conner Van Cleave would belt a two run shot to rich field in the 6th to extend the Gorilla lead to 10-6. Garrett McGowan would follow in Van Cleaves footsteps with a grand slam in the seventh to give the Gorillas a 14-8 advantage.
Austin Bonnel would finish the day 3-4 with a triple and a double. Fowler would finish 2-3 with three RBIs.
Pitt State will return to action on Friday (Apr. 8) to take on Rogers State University in MIAA action.
