Gorillas Sweep the Lions

PITTSBURG­ — The Pittsburg State University Volleyball team beat the Lions of Missouri Southern Friday (Sept. 23) 3-0.
 
The Gorillas got off to a quick start defeating the Lions in the first set 25-16. The second set was a back-and-forth battle as the Gorillas took the second set 28-26. In the third set, the Gorillas took charge, winning it 25-17 to complete the sweep.
 
Janae Thurston led the Gorillas with 14 kills and a .367 hitting percentage. Bree Richard tallied 38 assists on the night. Marissa Bates had 15 digs.
 
The Gorillas will have another home match Monday (Sept.26) night as they host the Bronchos of Central Oklahoma. The first serve is at 6 p.m. (CDT)
