PITTSBURG — Guards Max Alexander and Jordan Frison combined for 35 points to help spark the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to a 75-54 victory over McPherson College Tuesday (Nov. 21).
Alexander made seven of 14 shots from the floor in finishing with a game-high 18 points in the the Gorillas' home opener at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court. Frison filled up his stat line with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Forward Deshuan English II posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. English was 4-for-5 from the floor and added four blocked shots.
R.J. Forney Jr. chipped in with nine points on the strength of 3-for-7 shooting from 3-point range. Braydon Redd added eight points and six rebounds. Tane Prictor also finished with four points, three rebounds and four blocked shots.
Collin Storr paced the Bulldogs with 16 points.
Pitt State improved to 2-1 on the season. The Gorillas will return to action Saturday (Nov. 25) by hosting William Jewell College at 3:30 p.m. (CST).
