PITTSBURG — The Missouri Southern State University baseball team rallied from an early 9-2 deficit to claim a 19-14 victory over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Feb. 26).

The Lions (11-5, 2-1MIAA) took two of three games to take the MIAA series from the Gorillas (9-6, 1-2 MIAA).

Trey McClelland popped three home runs and drove in five runs in the losing effort for Pitt State. Brett Daley and Carson Koffee collected four hits apiece.

Parker Tennill (1-1) took the loss in relief. Eight Gorilla pitchers took the mound in the contest.

The Gorillas will travel to St. Joseph, Mo., next weekend for a three-game series against Missouri Western State University.
