JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Karenna Gerber and Harper Schreiner turned in career performances, combining for 61 points in the game, to lead the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to an 86-78 victory over Lincoln University Saturday (Feb. 4) at Jason Gym.

Gerber made 12 of 17 shots from the floor and poured in career high 31 points. She posted her seventh double-double of the season by adding a game high 14 rebounds as well. Schreiner added a career-high 30 points on a blistering 12-for-14 shooting pace. She also chipped in with six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.

Pitt State (18-5, 13-4 MIAA) led 37-36 at halftime and 61-56 heading into the final stanza. LU (5-17, 3-13 MIAA) got as close as three points, 63-60, on Ashlyn Alloway's layup with 8:42 remaining, but the Gorillas responded with a free throw by Jenna Shipley and back-to-back baskets by Gerber to take control.

Pitt State shot 49.2 percent (31-63) from the field in the game and the Gorillas converted 21 of 30 free throw attempts. Erin Davis chipped in with 10 points as the third Pitt State player to score in double figures.

The Blue Tigers got 25 points from Niyah Jackson in the losing effort. A.J. Bradley added 16 points and Alloway contributed 14 points and eight rebounds.

Pitt State will return home to play host to No. 24 ranked Missouri Southern State University next Saturday (Feb. 11) at 1:30 p.m. (CST).
