PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University baseball team will make its home debut by hosting Regis University in a three-day, four-game series beginning Friday (Feb. 10) at Al Ortolani Field.
 
The Gorillas and Rangers will play a single game Friday at 3 p.m. (CST), followed by a Noon doubleheader Saturday (Feb. 11) and a final game at Noon Sunday (Feb. 12).
 
Pitt State will bring a 2-1 record into the weekend action after opening the season at the UCO First Pitch Classic at Edmond, Okla., last weekend. The Gorillas posted a 2-1 win over Southwestern Oklahoma and a 7-4 victory over Northern State with a loss to Oklahoma Baptist sandwiched in-between.
 
Regis will bring a 3-1 record into Friday's action. The Rangers took three of four games from Concordia (Calif.) last week at Irvine, Calif.
 
The Gorillas are batting .250 on the young season and scoring 4.3 runs per game. Pitt State's pitching staff currently sports a 4.38 ERA and the squad has a .938 fielding percentage to date.
 
Sophomore outfielder 
Joe Hamilton is currently batting .750 with two doubles and three RBI in two games played. Sophomore catcher 
Connor Allen also is hitting .400 with a double and two RBI in two games played, while junior infielder 
Daegan Brady and junior infielder 
Andrew Branson are each hitting .333 to date.

Zac Shoemaker (0-0, 0.00 ERA), sophomore RHP 
Cason Long (0-1, 13.50 ERA), sophomore RHP 
Parker Weddell (0-0, 0.00 ERA) and junior LHP 
Ben Des Rosiers (0-0, 4.50 ERA) are expected to make starts on the mound in the series for the Gorillas.
