EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Emporia State University baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for an 8-7 victory over Pittsburg State University Tuesday (Mar. 28).
The loss snapped the Gorillas' eight-game winning streak, leaving Pitt State 21-8 overall and 13-4 in MIAA play. The Gorillas will seek a quick turnaround by hosting Missouri S&T Wednesday (Mar. 29) at 2 p.m. The Hornets improved to 12-19 (7-10 MIAA).
Austin Warkins paced the Pitt State offense Tuesday, belting a second-inning grandslam and going 3-for-5 at the plate. Ryan Koval also doubled, homered and drove in a pair of runs.
