PITTSBURG -- The University of Central Missouri baseball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to rally from a 5-3 deficit and eventually take a 7-5 win over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Apr. 16) at Al Ortolani Field.

The Mules (30-11, 21-6 MIAA) took two of three games in the series against the Gorillas (28-13, 19-8 MIAA) to remain in first place in the MIAA standings, while Pitt State slide into third place in the conference standings.

Nixon Brannan went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of walks. Austin Warkins doubled and drove in a run, while Joe Hamilton and Brevon Lee had RBIs in the contest. Dawson Pomeroy (0-2) was charged with the loss. Tanner Leslie allowed three runs in 4.1 innings of work as Pitt State's starter in the game.

The Gorillas will travel to Rolla, Mo., to face Missouri University of Science & Technology Tuesday (Apr. 18), before returning home to host Newman University in a three-game MIAA series starting Friday (Apr. 21).
