KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University redshirt senior kicker Gentry Cole was selected the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week Monday (Oct. 21).

Cole, primarily a kickoff specialist for the Gorillas, connected on his first two made field goals of his collegiate career in Pitt State's 18-17 victory over Fort Hays State Saturday (Oct. 19). The Goddard, Kan., native connected on a 49-yard field goal and a 27-yard attempt in the first half against the Tigers. He entered the game 0-for-3 in career field goal attempts.

Cole, who is subbing for an injured Austin Schmitt (second-team All-MIAA in 2023), also averaged 62.0 yards on four kickoffs in the game.
