R.J. Forney Jr. poured in a career high 25 points to lead the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team to a 73-67 victory over St. Cloud State University in the final game of the Central Region Challenge Sunday (Nov. 10) at Municipal Auditorium.

Forney scored 15 points in the second half as the Gorillas overcame a three-point halftime deficit. Forney hit 10 of 15 shots in the contest, including five of eight attempts from 3-point range.

Pitt State shot 50 percent from the field (27-54) in the game, including 61.5 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes of play (16-26).

Tanner Manns added 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Gorillas (1-1), while
Tane Prictor added 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots in his season debut after missing the season opener Friday.
Avery Taggart dished out a game high eight assists.

SCSU (1-1) got 15 points from Jamiir Allen and 14 more from Kynan Philippe.

The Gorillas will return to Municipal Auditorium to co-host the Bearcats/Gorillas Invitational with Northwest Missouri State University next Thursday and Friday (Nov. 14-15).
