PITTSBURG —
Tanner Mans scored a team-leading 18 points and hit four free throws in the game's final minute to help the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team preserve a 72-64 victory over Arkansas Tech University Wednesday (Nov. 27 ) at John Lance Arena.

The Gorillas led by 11 points, 58-47, with 10:06 to play in the game but the Wonder Boys keyed a 12-2 run to get back into the contest. ATU (2-4) battled back to tie the score at 63-63 on two free throws by Cassius Brooks with 3:53 to play, but Pitt State (3-3) outscored ATU, 9-1, the rest of the way.

Mans and
Avery Taggart each hit four 3-pointers in the contest. Mans made four of seven long range attempts. Taggart finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Jordan Frison scored nine of his 13 points in the second half. He also posted dive rebounds and six assists in the game.
Miles Branch finished with seven points and nine rebounds.

Brooks and Seybian Sims scored 19 points apiece to lead ATU. Sims also logged a game-high 13 rebounds.

The Gorillas will return to action Saturday (Nov. 30) when they play host to McPherson College at 3:30 p.m. (CST).
