No. 13 Gorillas Roll Past ATU, 75-55

PITTSBURG — Karenna Gerber posted a double double and Macie Mays scored a game-high 17 points in leading the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team to a 75-55 victory over Arkansas Tech University Wednesday (Nov. 27 ) at John Lance Arena.
 
Mays made eight of 16 shots from the floor and posted 17 points to pace the Gorillas' offensive attack. Gerber notched her 24th career double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. She added three of Pitt State's six blocked shots in the contest.
 
Grace Pyle chipped in with 13 points while Harper Schreiner added six points, 12 rebounds and four assists.
 
Pitt State (6-1), which notched its sixth straight win, limited ATU (2-2) to 37 percent shooting and forced the Golden Suns into 18 turnovers. Haleigh Wyrick led three ATU players in double figures with 13 points.
 
The Gorillas will return to action next Wednesday (Dec. 4) when they open MIAA play on the road against the University of Central Oklahoma.
