TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Isaiah Keller smacked a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Northeastern State University baseball team to a 10-9 victory over Pittsburg State University Friday (Mar. 29) at Rousey Field.
The No. 24 ranked Gorillas (22-10, 13-6 MIAA) plated four runs in the top of the ninth inning to overcome a 7-5 deficit and push in front, 9-7, but the RiverHawks (16-17, 7-12 MIAA) countered with two runs in their half of the ninth to set up Keller's game winning hit.
Nixon Brannan and Dylan Kurahashi-Choy Foo both went 3-for-5 at the plate to help spark the Pitt State offense. Brannan and Blake Mozley both homered in the contest. Mozley drove in three runs. The Gorillas had 11 hits and drew 10 walks in the contest, but Pitt State stranded 14 base runners.
Boston Dowd (3-1), the last of five Gorillas to pitch in the game, took the loss.
Pitt State and NSU will wrap up the three-game MIAA series with a 1 p.m. (CDT) game Saturday (Mar. 30).
