MARYVILLE, Mo. - The ninth ranked Pittsburg State University softball team split with Northwest Missouri State University at the Bearcat Softball Field on Friday (Apr. 19).
The Gorillas (43-5, 17-3 MIAA) won game one, 3-0 behind a two hit complete game shutout from Ava Laurent (Grand Island, Neb.). Gabby Schultz (Gardner, Kan.) led the team on offense going 2-of-3 for two RBI.
In game two, a 5-0 loss for the Gorillas. Northwest Missouri's (21-23, 10-10 MIAA) Breck Dickey threw a complete game shutout limiting Pitt State to two hits and one walk.
Pittsburg State will be back in action on Saturday (Apr. 20) at the Griffon Softball Field for a conference doubleheader against the Missouri Western State University Griffons at Noon.
