WICHITA -- Blake Mozley and Dylan Kurahaski-Choy Foo combined for six hits and seven RBI to help propel the Pittsburg State University baseball team to a 10-8 victory over Newman University Saturday (Apr. 20) at McCarthy Field.
The win helped the Gorillas improve to 29-15 overall (19-10 MIAA), while the Jets dropped to 13-31 (9-20 MIAA). The two squads will wrap up the three-game MIAA series with a 1 p.m. game Sunday.
Choy Foo went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI in the contest Saturday, while Mozley went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBI. Cade Clemons also had two hits in the contest and Jake Grauberger scored three times.
Christian Spitz (2-1) earned the win on the mound for the Gorillas. He allowed two runs in 2.2 innings of relief work while registering three strikeouts. Cole Askew pitched a clean ninth inning for his fifth save of the year.
