INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA released the first set of regional rankings for the NCAA Division II baseball season Wednesday (Apr. 24) – a list of 10 schools in each region in unranked alphabetical order with Pittsburg State University included in the Central Region list.
The Gorillas (30-15) are one of four teams in the region from the MIAA: Central Missouri (40-5), Central Oklahoma (34-11) and Missouri Southern (36-11). The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) has two teams represented: Augustana (32-6) and St. Cloud State (24-15). The Great American Conference (GAC) also had four teams listed: Arkansas-Monticello (25-18), Arkansas Tech (28-12), Harding (28-14) and Southern Arkansas (26-16).
Starting next week, the NCAA will rank in order the top 10 squads in each region. Following the completion of regular season play and conference tournament action, the NCAA will release the eight teams from the Central Region selected to the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championships - three automatic conference tournament winners (MIAA, GAC, NSIC) and five at-large teams.
