DENTON, Texas - The Pittsburg State University volleyball team split its games against Midwestern State and Colorado Christian on Friday (Sept. 13) for the second day of the Denton Volleyfest at Kitty Magee Arena.
Pittsburg State (4-3) began the day with a 3-0 win against Midwestern State (3-3), 25-23, 25-22, 25-19. Colorado Christian (4-3) turned back the Gorillas, 3-0 in the nightcap.
Against MSU,
Seville Gates and
Vix Vilott tied for the team lead with 10 kills.
Rylee Martin dished out 23 assists and
Josie McCroskey finished with 25 digs. Vilott and
Ivy Fink tied for the team lead in kills against CCU with nine.
Jesa Wallace came away with 28 assists and McCroskey posted 16 digs.
The Gorillas will wrap up the Denton Volleyfest with a 4:30 p.m. (CDT) match against hosts Texas Woman's University at Kitty Magee Arena, Saturday (Sept. 14).Â
