PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University wrapped up day one action of its Regional Challenge action at John Lance Arena with an emphatic 3-0 victory over the University of Illinois-Springfield Friday (Sept. 20).

The Gorillas swept the Prairie Stars 25-18, 25-19, 25-19.

Ivy Fink, Carly Clennan and Vix Vilott paced the Pitt State offense by combining to record 27 kills in the match. Fink posted match highs of 10 kills and 11 digs, while Clennan and Vilott added nine kills each.

Anna Dean chipped in with six kills, four service aces and five block assists, while Jesa Wallace added five kills and 34 assists.

Day two action of the Regional Challenge begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, while the Gorillas will close out the tournament with a 4:30 p.m. match-up against Harding University.
