PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University volleyball team split pair of matches in day one action of the Gorilla Classic Friday (Sept. 6) at John Lance Arena.
The Gorillas scored a decided 3-0 victory over Arkansas Tech University in the season opener Friday morning as Pitt State rolled 25-6, 25-19, 25-23. Oklahoma Christian University turned back the Gorillas, 3-0, in the nightcap Friday.
Against ATU,
Vix Vilott paced the Gorillas with 12 kills.
Ivy Fink added seven kills and a team-leading 13 digs and
Rylee Martin chipped in with 29 assists. Vilott added 10 kills Friday night against OCU. Martin posted 22 assists and
Josie McCroskey posted 12 digs.
The Gorillas wrap up the two-day tournament Saturday by hosting Western Colorado University at 2 p.m. and Southwest Baptist University at 7 p.m.
