PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University men's basketball coach
Jeff Boschee announced the recent signing of
Ethan Sage, a senior at Weatherford (Okla.) High School, to a letter of intent to join the Gorillas for the 2025-26 season.
Sage, a 6-feet, 7-inch forward, averaged 13 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots per game as a junior in 2023-24, helping the Eagles to a 28-2 record and the Oklahoma Class 4A state runner-up finish. He was an All-Conference selection and he was selected to the Class 4A All-State Tournament Team. Sage and the Eagles are off to a 9-0 start to the 2025-26 season.
"We are ecstatic to have Ethan become a Gorilla!!!" Boschee said. "We offered Ethan last spring and have recruited him hard over the last eight or so months. He has enjoyed a ton of winning success at Weatherford High School. We love his versatility to play inside and out. He has great positional size where he can play multiple positions. He is extremely competitive with a great IQ and plays the game the right way. Ethan will fit in perfectly with our program and style of play! We are very fortunate to get a player of his caliber."
Sage becomes the fourth player to sign with the Gorillas for the 2025-26. Pitt State announced the commitments of
E.J. Breland (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick High School),
Landon Short (Round Rock, Texas/Stony Point High School) and
Maddox Teeter (Farmington, Ark./Farmington High School) in December.
