PITTSBURG --
Jordan Frison led three Pittsburg State University men's basketball players in double figures with 15 points as the Gorillas posted a 70-59 victory over the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Thursday (Jan. 2).
The Gorillas (7-5, 3-0 MIAA) remained unbeaten in MIAA play with the win while the Lions (6-6, 0-3 MIAA) remained winless in conference action.
Frison dished out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds to go along with his game-high scoring total.
Avery Taggart (12) and
Tanner Mans (11) also scored in double figures. Taggart added a team-leading eight rebounds.
The Gorillas rushed out to a 20-2 lead to start the game. Pitt State limited UAFS to nine points over the first 13 minutes of the game before settling for a 35-26 halftime advantage.
The Gorillas will return to action Saturday (Jan. 4) by hosting Northeastern State University at 3:30 p.m.
